Wanted to give anyone looking for a TT Z to not waste their time on this one. He has had it on Ebay several times and it never sold so I called him. Reserve was $16,900. I had him at $16k. He was unfamiliar with the mods on these cars and was reading me the details from the previous owners records one day. The car had JWT pop, JWT ECU, HKS catback, (Magna flow mufflers maybe?), steal braded brakelines and short throw shifter. He didn't know what stage III was. He usually deals in muscle cars but ran across this one from a "collector". I spoke to the guy several times and asked him every detailed question that us Z guys know to ask. I spoke to the owner of the shop that had serviced the car and had recently gone thru it (supposedly). Everything checked out so I was prepared to pay up a little for a rare Z that already had the mods I wanted to add.

I made the 7 hour trip to Pittsburgh from Charlotte where I met him at the shop so I could look at it on a lift and talk to the tech/owner. Here is what I found.

1. Oil leak from passenger side turbo.
2. Hydraulic fluid leak from hoses under the car that run to rear wheel steering.
3. Front clip had been painted (He knew and did not disclose)
4. Driver side door did not line up, had been painted, rear driver's quarter had been painted, you could see small concussion lines where it had been hit in driver's door and spoiler had been painted in spots along with deck lid.
5. Radio did not work at all (He knew and did not disclose).
6. THEN I DROVE IT! Clutch was floppy and made noise when engaged in first, there was a grinding sound in drive train as you drove down the road, and the weirdest part....It had less power than an NA! The boost gauge showed 8-9lbs boost when I got on it but it was not even close to stock TT power, much less Stage III!!!

He knew some of these issues and may not have known others but he wasn't honest about part of it so we know how that goes.

Needless to say I was not happy on my 7 hour drive home.
